I totally agree with you, Apart from Bouncing Souls, all the stuff that I like that the band like is Mere coincidence, I remember getting really annoyed because of it. And having this same conversation with you. I freely admit that I started listening to Bouncing Souls because I was downloading music and listening to the interview where Frank said he loved them and I thought 'might as well'
oh and Baumer because of Mikey but yeah. Bouncing Souls is the only one that matters because I count them as one of my favourite bands.
People wouldn't assume that I was a fan of something huge - like Lord of the Rings - because Gerard likes it, but take a more obscure thing, like Neil Gaiman or the Dresden Dolls, and OF COURSE I'm only into it because someone in a scene band likes them.
I would like tot ake this chance to say that having been a fan of Lord Of The Rings since I was 8, into Neil Gaiman since I read Good Omens (because before that i was a huge Pratchett fan) and Dresden Dolls since I stumbled across them aged about, 16. I know from talks with you that you like them more than you could if you were only saying you liked them because of someone else, I have closer friends than you that do that. It pisses the hell out of me. >: (
OH AND YEAH, I REMINDED NAT ABOUT THE SIGNING B/C I KNEW SHE WAS A FAN.
